Mr. Frank has extensive experience, including service as a retired Army CW4, a Federal Law Enforcement Officer, a licensed Pistol Instructor through “2A Firearms Safety & Training Solutions,” and a retired corporate pilot.

Lea Greenleaf Obituary

On April 12th, 2026, a beautiful soul passed from this life into the arms of his Lord and Savior with family and friends at his bedside.

Harold “Lea” Greenleaf was born on August 25, 1949, in Greensboro, North Carolina and was immediately adopted by Harold Elmer Greenleaf and Edna Earl Virginia Seawell Greenleaf. He spent his formative years in Greensboro excelling in school and playing football and hockey. He loved all sports and was an avid OU fan attending football games for many years. Lea worked for the United States Postal Service in Atlanta, Georgia and in 1975 transferred to Norman to teach at the Postal Training Center. He loved Norman and Oklahoma and chose to make it his home for the rest of his life. Lea spent his life caring for others. He became a paramedic in Atlanta and continued his Paramedic service in Norman for fourteen years, caring for the sick and injured with expertise and compassion. Before his retirement in 2008 he served as Quality Contral Safety Manager at Tinker Air Force Base.

Lea was a lifetime member of the NRA and Tri City Gun Club. He opened a company called Oklahoma Safe Shooting, where he taught responsible gun ownership to a great number of people. He was an excellent gunsmith and repaired guns as well as working to restore and determine the value of antique firearms.

One of Lea’s passions was HAM radios. He was an active member of SCARS (South Canadian Amateur Radio Society). He developed and made antennas, worked to program radios for himself and others and spent hours communicating with people all over the world. He felt “it made the world a smaller place.” This passion led him to becoming involved with the development of the new Emergency Operations Center in Norman. It is a state-of-the-art facility, and he designed the area devoted to HAM communications at the center. He served as Auxiliary Communications Coordinator and became one of the founding members of the new EOC team.

Lea loved his community and served on the City Public Safety Sales Tax Oversight Committee for many years, contributing richly to ensure the appropriate distribution of funding for the citizens of Norman. He also loved his country and was a true Patriot of the United States of America.

Lea was a man of many talents. He had a brilliant mind and read technical manuals with the same enthusiasm as one reads a novel. With all his zest for life, Lea’s single most joy in life was his family. He met Joan in 1977, and they became devoted friends until they married in 1991. He Loved Joan and her two children, Rob and Jennifer, with a deep commitment to their happiness until the day he died. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him, especially his loving family.

Lea was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Joan. Rob (Lori) and Jennifer (David); grandchildren, Kate, Bo (Maddie) and Meg of Norman, Lily and Piper of Houston, and great-grandson, Hunter of Norman.

Lea’s charities of choice are St. Thomas More Catholic Church (Norman) and Wounded Warriors.

Services will be visitation at Havenbrook, Monday, May 4th from 5-8Pm and Mass at St. Thomas More, May 5th at 10am.

Passing of Dale Schuster March 2026

Dale Schuster was one of the men who initially incorporated Tri-City Gun Club. He was also past president of the ORA.

Tri-City Gun Club was Incorporated in 1975 along with T.N. Pool, Robert Sims and John Stokesbury. Initially incorporated with and address of Midwest City, Tri-City referred to Del City, Oklahoma City and Midwest City due to membership. I am told that this group of gentlemen purchased hunting leases together. The first meeting I attended was in Del City.

The Purpose of Tri-City Gun Club as stated in the Articles is to provide firearms safety; promote sports shooting; and provide a safe place for target shooting.

In March 1993, the Incorporation was amended to a Not for Profit by club Secretary Jerry Black and Club President Walt Nagy. This allowed for the purchase of land where Tri-City currently resides and provided an avenue to promote Gun Safety to the public with events like Sportsfest, Women on Target, Hunters Education and Boy Scout Camp and Shoot.

Bylaw Change Passed

A 31% quorum of voting members was reached with 109 out of 348 voting members casting ballots. The bylaw change passed with 97 ‘yes’ votes and 12 ‘no’ votes.

Section 3.012. TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP . Memberships shall be valid for one (1) year (a) beginning on the effective date of membership (join date) noted in the member’s membership record or (b) beginning on the anniversary of the join date. Membership requires the individual member (a) complete and submit an application for membership or renewal, as designated by the board, (b) demonstrate understanding of TCGC administrative and safety rules, and c) pay any dues and fees required within one (1) month of their join date or for subsequent years of membership, within one (1) month the anniversary of the member's join date. Former members, other than life members, including those members whose memberships have lapsed due to their own action or inaction, must apply as a ‘new member’. Upon completion of all current application requirements and conditions as a ‘new member’, to include payment of any initiation fee required at the time of application and completion of current safety orientation session, the former member will be reinstated to their previous membership level with their record of years at that level. The foregoing is contingent upon vacancies available at that level per Section 3.011. If none available member will be placed on a waiting list for that level, and will be reinstated at that level immediately when available.

We were saddened to hear about the passing of one of Tri-City Gun Club’s Life members. Our hearts and prayers go out to family and friends.

Bill Davis, retired electrician and a life member of TCGC , that used the pistol range mostly for his shooting enjoyment.He would arrive early at the range for IPSC and 22 rifle matches and help set up and tear down, didn't shoot, just to help and visit with the shooters. He would do a trash run on the range Wednesday mornings after breakfast with friends . He was special Man, great work ethic, sense of humor, loyalty to his friends, I miss him greatly, Randy Grotts

This Sunday we will be having our monthly multi gun match at Tri City Gun club!!!!

We're going to do something different this month!!! Please bring your 22lr rifle and pistol and come have a great time!!

All courses of fire will be designed around rim fire 22lr. If you dont have one or the other thats just fine please bring some ammo and we have people to help on the firearm!!!

Please come early if you have ideas on a stage design!!!

Setup is at 0800!!

Shooting at 0900 please come help setup and also if you can stay to help tear down!! it makes the match more enjoyable for everyone.

Attendees of the Inaugural Ladies day!All,

The Tri-City Ladies Defensive Training Day that the club hosted on May 7, 2022 was a huge hit. The event had originally sold out within the first 30 days of registration opening and we then set up a waitlist due to the demand. We did have a couple last minute cancellations but ended up with a total of 54 women in attendance out of the 60 slots. This event included 4 training blocks throughout the day and included lunch from Rays BBQ. The training blocks for the ladies included defensive handgun, home defense shotgun, pepper spray, and a holster clinic at the end. The ladies really enjoyed the all of the hands on training, explanations from the instructors, and especially the scenarios for the managing unknown/unwanted contacts portion. We have had a ton of positive feedback from the women that said that the trainers were very professional, and they are very eager to have us put another event together with more training options. Overall, I think the club made a great decision in offering this type of training to our community. I did hear several of the ladies saying that they learned more at this event than they had in years at other events. That is HUGE in my book, especially with as many events and training seminars I attend every year. We were lucky to get some drone footage as well at professional photography that can help us promote more events in the future. Additionally, we had several door prizes donated which that included $1000 worth of gift certificates from Hunters HD Gold, an AR-Lower from Cold Hand Arms, $100 gift certificates from Flashbang Holster Company and Keepers Concealment Holsters, Colt hats were provided by Shoot Like a Girl, ammo from Choctaw Archery & Guns, targets & inert water-based POM spray was provided by TCGC, we also had a local donate some very nice Harley Davidson safety glasses and ear protection, and lastly several of our instructors in attendance donated a handful of classes and private lessons.
I do want to extend my sincere thanks to Tara, the volunteers and staff at TCGC. I know Tara and I put in countless hours and we had a lot of lots late night conversations trying to get all of this put together in such a short amount of time. I think overall that we did a phenomenal job!! The TCGC staff and volunteers played a big role in this event being successful as well and I do appreciate their time and willingness to help. I hope to help make this event even better next year!!

Had about 15 shotguns and at least 14 Archers! We will be starting the 22 Rifle in two weeks. The kids had a blast fellowshipping! Youth had a history lesson. Ken, Joey and Lee brought out M1 Garande, M1 Carbine, Tommy Gun and BAR! Several kids got to shoot the gongs!

So glad to see all the youth come out to shoot!

Congratulations to Joshua! One of my past students that started shotgun with our program! He shot 95/100 and won Junior ATA Championship in Washington! So excited for him!

April’s Practical Pistol today!

April's Practical Pistol match will be a little different this month.

You will have the option of shooting the match at the normal price of $15 and shooting a single gun, just as we do every month. Or you can pay $40 to participate in the 2 gun match with the proceeds going to the McClain County Sheriff's Office reserve program. If you chose to shoot the 2 gun match you will be eligible for prizes in each division.

Here is the Announcement from Tanner WIlliams (Multigun match director)regarding the 2 gun portion:

We will be doing a 2 gun supplemental match. All 3 courses of fire will be shot with a rifle and pistol. Another change for this month is the entry fee for the match. The cost will be $40. I know this is a little higher than normal but there is a reason. The entry fees are being donated to the McClain County Sheriff's office reserve program. However, with this change there is a prize table for each division. Please come out and support a great cause and shoot a little different match than normal. This is an Outlaw match.

A few differences are:

Pistols in all divisions will be allowed optics, weapon mounted flashlights are allowed, suppressors are allowed on rifles.

All stages will be rifle and pistol.

No more than 120 rounds for pistol and 60 for rifle.

We follow a strict “COLD” range policy, all firearms are to remain unloaded and stored in one of the following conditions: bagged / holstered (with the slide locked back) / flagged. And handling of firearms is only allowed in the designated Safe Areas or on the firing line under direction of the RO. You may load your mags anywhere except the Safe Area.

For those who want to participate and may not have a rifle, Shawn will have a couple of his rifles there for your use.

Steven A Fletcher passed last night in Norman after a long illness.

Steve and I joined Tri City in 1983. He was the legal advisor to the TCGC for several years. We worked a lot for the club back then, I recall a rush to complete the short range in time for the 1989 shotgun Olympics, I remember us planting 200 trees along the north border to cut down on noise in Norman. Steve lived in Norman and took many new shooters to the range. We were also in the first cycle of CCW instructors, in 1996.

Anyway, lots of older members will remember Steve. A good guy.

Lee Donlon passed away in his sleep on July 30th.

Dale, Lee's Wife requested that I notify members of the gun Club.

Viewing tomorrow at Wilson funeral home in El Reno from 8am to 8pm. Wednesday August 4th.

WARNING!!! Snakes and Critters

When you come to the range, be conscious of what is around you, look before you pick things up from the ground, move sand bags, open trap machines, etc. When you walk down range, pay attention to what is around you.

If you encounter snakes and critters, leave them alone, make note of where they are, give them a wide berth, do not try to pick them up and do not shoot them. They will move along given the right opportunity.

Early this morning a member encountered what he reported to be three Copperhead Snakes, around the Stat House that were probably enjoying the buffet of little frogs around the night light pole. Of course the little frogs were enjoying the buffet of little bugs atracted to the light. He encouraged them to move to the west off of the range.

Ranges closing Monday April 5th. Updated

Berm work and Handicap Parking Construction.

Dates subject to change based upon the weather.

Short Rifle Range Closed Monday April 5th till @ April 14th. Range will be closed a minimum of 8 days. Depends on when footings are poured.

Pistol Range will be closed Monday while moving concrete and Tuesday to ???? for Footing Construction. Will try to have most pistol lanes open once footings are poured. Minimum 5 days. Check at gate for closures.

Shotgun 1 will be closed Thursday Morning briefly while concrete is being poured. (maybe Shotgun 2)

Check the Range Status as you come in the gate.

Please stay off new concrete for around 1 week.

The lead remediation crew has finished their work with us. They will have equipment on the range waiting transport to their next job.

Approximately 32000 pounds of lead were harvested.

The range looks good.

I need to work with bill to reset the gongs at 150 yards on the long range.

SPORTING CLAY COURSE PROPOSAL

Members! We have an excellent opportunity to purchase some used Trap machines with counters for the new Sporting Clays Course.

Based on history with the 5-Stand this endeavor will pay for itself and greatly enhance the Shotgun facilities.

Attached please find the proposal which will be voted on at the January 5 th Club Meeting.

Due to COVID the meeting might be in person and/or virtual. Please email questions to the Rob, Member at Large to be forwarded to the Board.

Note: If you see the telephone poles, they were donated to be used on the Sporting Clay Course! Thousands of $$$ of time and materials being donated to help make this happen!

FAQ: All shot at the proposed sporting clays will go into the same safety zone that is being used by skeet/trap. Parking will be in existing parking areas. SPORTING CLAYS WILL BE ON A PREPAID DIGITAL KEY CARD

This Sunday the 15th is our monthly 3 Gun Match, with setup starting at 7:30, and start shooting at 9:00.

Since ammo is still hard to come by for many people, we'll be shooting this the same as last month to allow for .22 pistol and .22 rifle.

Pistol rounds will be limited to 20 rounds max per stage, with 10 rounds per mag max.

Rifle will be 20 rounds max, with 20 rounds per mag max.

Shotgun is unchanged.

We might be going heavy on shotgun, so it won't hurt to grab three boxes.

Can't have too much ammo.

Match fee is $15.00, but we'll knock off a whopping $5.00 if you help setup and tear down.

Obituary

Michael LeRoy Lillywhite, 64, of Oklahoma City passed away on September 12, 2019. He was born on July 31, 1955 in Corona, California to Verl and Geri (Anderson) Lillywhite. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father. He leaves cherished memories with his wife, Vicki; four children: Michael Lillywhite and wife Christina, Erin Lillywhite, Jonathan Scott and wife Rebecca & Justin Scott and wife Laci; one grandchild, Rhett Scott; three brothers, Jim, Jeff and Steven Lillywhite; and numerous other family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thurs. at the funeral home.
Graveside Services to celebrate his life will be 10:00 AM at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, Oklahoma.

Senate Bill 566 - Hunting Guides

Attached is the full Bill as amended and passed in the Senate March 12, 2019.

This allows hunting guides on public lands and authorizes the ODWC to establish fees and rules regarding guides. The Act would become effective November 1, 2019.

From: Lance Meek at ODWC says that the took out the bad parts. Below is from their liaison:

B 566 (Sen. Casey Murdock & Rep. Kevin McDugle): SB 566 would authorize ODWC to regulate and assess fees for hunting guides and outfitters, including on Oklahoma’s public hunting areas that have historically been off limits to private individuals being able to profit off public lands that were bought or leased with funds paid by our hunters and anglers. ODWC simply asked that we be able to regulate these activities if the legislature is going to open public lands up for guiding, which was accommodated by a floor amendment by Sen. Murdock. An additional floor amendment restored the title on the bill. Title was stricken in the Senate Ag & Wildlife Committee and the bill passed on 2/18. The bill was considered and voted on by the full Senate on 3/12. The measure passed

(Y-30/N-11). SB 566 was heard and passed by the House Wildlife Committee on 3/27. SB 566 is now available for the full House to consider.

◊SB 923 (Sen. Frank Simpson & Rep. Tommy Hardin): SB 923 creates a 3-day special permit for landowners with 200 acres or more to host veterans and charitable events. This license allows residents and nonresidents to hunt and fish on the specified land with exemptions from hunting or fishing licenses or permit requirements. The Department is able to assess a fee of up to $500 for the permit. Use of the permit is limited to veterans and nonprofit functions, and ODWC is provided with the authority to create rules for the enforcement of the permits.

Sen. Simpson agreed to strike title in the Senate Ag & Wildlife Committee and develop language to limit his special permits to charitable events and provide the ODWC with regulatory authority. With title struck, the bill passed out of committee on 2/18. Title was restored on the Senate floor, and a floor substitute was approved that limited the permit to charitable functions, and allows ODWC to establish rules. The bill passed the full Senate on 3/11 (Y-42/N-3).

SB 923 was heard and passed by the House Wildlife Committee on 3/27, and is now available for consideration by the full House.

I read in the obituaries of todays Norman Transcript that Stanley Ray Upchurch, a TCGC Life Member, passed away on Sunday 03/31/19.

His funeral is scheduled for Monday, 04/08 at 2:00PM at St Johns Episcopal Church in Norman.

Stan was one of the newer Hunters Education Instructors when I first started being in charge of the Class. He was always excited to help teach young people! He was also one of the main reasons that I started looking into the Handicap parking! He was active but could not get around the range safely.

Now Taking Applications for the 21st Annual Wildlife Youth Camp

A week full of fun outdoor activities, conservation education and camaraderie is in store for up to 35 lucky teens selected to attend the 21st annual Wildlife Youth Camp. Applications are now being accepted for this summer's once-in-a-lifetime event.

"Campers will get a better understanding of wildlife and fisheries management and conservation law enforcement, while at the same time learning some fun outdoor activities," said game warden Captain Wade Farrar, youth camp coordinator. "If you are interested in hunting, fishing or a career with the Wildlife Department, then this camp is for you."

The camp will be June 23-28 at the University of Oklahoma Biological Station at Lake Texoma. Game wardens, wildlife and fisheries professionals and dedicated hunters and anglers will be conducting the camp and supervising activities.

Activities will include archery, wildlife identification, rifle/shotgun shooting, fishing, ropes course, self-defense, wildlife law enforcement scenarios, wildlife and fisheries management education, and deer/turkey/waterfowl law enforcement techniques.

And thanks to the support of generous sponsors including the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, it's all free for the campers.

Applicants must be Oklahoma residents who will be 14 to 16 years old as of June 23, 2019. Prospective campers must fill out an application form and write a 75-word essay describing why they want to attend the camp, why they should be selected, and what they expect to learn. Also, they must furnish a letter of recommendation from someone other than a family member, and a recent photograph showing the applicant participating in an outdoor-related event or activity.

The application form is online. The page also includes additional information about the camp and photos from previous years. Applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. April 12, 2019.

Hello All,

I need to share some unfortunate news with you. Joe Mays has passed away from a heart attack on Saturday. As you know I’d been trying to get a hold of Joe the last couple of weeks to let him know we were kicking things off for 2019. And apparently his son “Glen” heard the messages that I’d left and called me last night. Glen asked that we pray for Joe and the family.

The services are planned as follows.

The Wake will be Tuesday the 22^nd at 6:30pm at Yanda Funeral Home in Yukon.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday the 23^rd at 10:30amat St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon

The most important element in the sport of shooting is not focus or body control, it is safety. USA Shooting is proud to have a safety first methodology, resulting in a history of safe practices and zero injuries.

As a Supporting Partner of the USA Shooting Safety Coalition, Child Guard USA has helped outline a standard list of safety tips for those involved with the sport of shooting. The coalition welcomes the National 4-H Shooting Sports Foundation and International Hunter Education Association as part of the growing listing of organizations promoting a standard safety initiative. Child Guard, LLC, serves as an official Supporting Partner of these organizations, providing technical expertise, financial support and products in support of the program.

Here are a few tips to get you started:

1. Always assume every firearm is loaded
- Make sure your firearm is pointed in a safe direction
- Use the Safety switch, but never assume it is working

2. Keep your finger away from the trigger until ready to shoot

3. Read the owners manual
- Know how to use the Safety switch
- Know how to safely load and unload
- Use the right ammunition

4. Wear ear and eye protection

5. Inspect your firearm for clear barrels and safe operating condition before shooting

6. Ensure a safe backstop

7. Use a standard procedure to safely pass firearms

8. Clean firearms after use outdoors then wash your hands and face

9. Secure firearms for safe storage and transportation

10. Never use drugs or alcohol when handling a firearm

Finance Committee Report from June, 2018

The committee met on June 19 and discussed the turnovers in the Treasurer position that have been experienced this year and the confusion inherent in the books that this exacerbated. We discussed the rumors and accusations that had been brought up and found that there was no evidence of impropriety or malfeasance.

The Committee found that the Operating Procedures for the Treasurer are in need of review and to be made current. Some of this is because the current Treasurer is changing and formalizing the procedures that he uses. He stated that his intent is to implement a system that can be used easily by future Treasurers.

The accounting system has been and will remain based on cash accounting rather than a mix of cash and accrual. The Treasurer and VP attended and presented changes and pending changes. They have moved to a different accounting firm and developed a new set of General Ledger codes. We were assured that we would have copies of the monthly P&L reports and balance sheets as they come out and that the budget process was planned to begin in September.

The next meeting of the Finance Committee is scheduled for September 18, 2018

IMPORTANT SUB-2000 SAFETY RECALL NOTICE

We have recently identified an issue with the heat treatment of certain steel tubes received from a third-party supplier from which the barrels for a limited number of Kel-Tec SUB-2000 rifles were manufactured. This could potentially cause the barrel to rupture when a cartridge is fired and could result in serious personal injury. The safety of our customers is our primary concern, so Kel-Tec has voluntarily initiated this recall because of the possibility of a barrel rupturing.

This recall only affects a portion of SUB-2000s that were manufactured in 2017.

To check if your firearm would need to be sent in for barrel replacement enter your serial number into the provided field below. Refer to the image at the bottom of this page to help locate your serial number. In addition, if you would like to view a list of all affected serial numbers, Click Here.

All costs associated with the recall of your firearm shall be covered by Kel-Tec.

Fundraiser Trap Shoot for American Heart Society

He is a Congenital Heart Defect Survivor, and this year, he is hosting a Trap Shoot Contest benefitting the American Heart Association. BK Shaw will be missed!

Buford K (BK) Shaw, a TCGC Life Member passed away this morning 01/30/18.

He was my hunting partner, a Hunter Education Instructor, RSO and Shotgun Instructor. He supported all of the TCGC events from YHEC, Sportsfest, Women on Target, and Camp and Shoot.

His memorial service will be Saturday 02/03/18 at 2:00PM at Heaven Brook Funeral Home in Norman.

Construction on Bathroom Handicap ramp

Approximately Thursday January 25, construction will begin on the Bathroom ramp and handicap parking.

The bathrooms will remain open during construction. The project will take approximately 3 weeks to complete. As always weather is a factor!

Article III. Section 3.013 RENEWAL. Add one sentence to the paragraph.

All Members must renew their membership by October 31st of each year. Failure to do so will result in the loss of membership. Any member who loses his or her membership must apply as a “New Member”. All associate members will attend an oral presentation of the Range Safety Rules. All regular and life members will read and sign in person or with electronic signature the Range Safety Rules. 115 to 70 FAILED.

Complimentary Members must be members of the National Rifle Association, must read and sign in person or with electronic signature the Range Safety Rules, and are required to abide by all TCGC Rules and Regulations. 121-62 FAILED

Article IV. DUES, FEES, AND ADDITIONAL MEMBERSHIP TERMS. Section 4.05 VOTING ELIGIBILITY. Rewrite the second sentence. A member in good standing is one who has paid all required fees and dues, has read and signed in person or with electronic signature the Range Safety Rules and is not suspended as of the date of the vote. Passed 139-47 PASSED

Article IV. Section 4.04 UPGRADE TO REGULAR MEMBERSHIP. Rewrite the third sentence. Approved New Regular Members will pay at time of approval, a one-time nonrefundable land fund fee of One Hundred and no/100 Dollars ($100.00) 169-19 PASSED

The bylaw elections results will be published soon. One vote made a difference this year in the proposed bylaw change. So for those of you who did not vote. Shame on you! Once the Board meets and signs off on the changes, the New Bylaws will be posted online. No changes other than you must pay the land fund fee before your Associate membership can be upgraded to a Regular Membership. Details tba.

Foam Insulation Application

Monday, January 8 approx 8 to ?

Tentatively scheduled Monday 01/08 for the application of the spray foam insulation to the Air Rifle Range. The exact times to be determined.

Because of the overspray the entire range will be closed during the application.

We had a nice turnout today of a dozen shooters and lots of volunteers, so we were able to shoot all three bays!

A huge "Thank you" to Tanner Williams, who surprised us by showing up with 4 fence panels he made with orange construction fence and PVC pipe, making it super easy for 3 Gun and Practical Pistol to set up some walls.

In the not too distant future we'll look at getting together and making a number of these.

Thank you to everyone for showing up early and helping to setup and tear down.

Have a safe and happy Christmas and New Years and we'll see you at Practical Pistol next month.

Shotgun Range Closed for Cable installation

A cable contractor will be accessing right of way to the river tomorrow morning beginning at 0800 to approx 1300. On Monday and Tuesday next week the contractor will be installing Ariel cable on existing poles in right of way.

The skeet fields will need to be closed while contractor is working.

Set-up at 8 am. Start blastin at 9 am. There will be no supplemental this time cause dog gonnit. Its time again to feed you guys and gals. This match will be the 37th year of this practical pistol going on at the gun club. Lost a few friends and gained some new ones. I hope this will go on another 37 years or more. I appreciate all the people who have helped set up and tear down the stages and to all of you that have participated in the matches past present and future. If it was not for you. This would not go on. My dad. God Bless Him. Decided to feed the competitors on the month that this all started in November of 1980, If it was not for him there would be no feast. So come out and have some fun. Shoot the match and I will feed you. On the house.

2017 World Skeet Champion from Tri-City Gun Club

We would like to congratulate club member and 2017 World Skeet Championships 20g “C” Class & Ducks Unlimited Champion Mike Sampson. Mike has been a long time world class competitor. Many years of competing at state, national, and world levels and traveling from here to the moon and back, Mike is no stranger to bringing home the goodies for being at the top of the game. This year was special. This year he won his first ‘individual’ world championships. The prize was a beautiful Remington 1100 20g Skeet Shotgun and a gorgeous belt buckle. Sadly his TCGC Championship buckle is now on the shelf with so many others. Congratulations on all your success, Mike!!

Minor damage at the range. See a limb? Help pick up!

No structural damage. Lots of rain and wind. Power is back on, so all is fine.

Tara reported that there was some fence damage and apparently a minor flood. Ken went down and had to chain the gate overnight. Bill reported power back on by @9:30 this morning.

I have not made it to the range yet. But, apparently pistol and rifle shoots continued as scheduled.

Once again, that joyous time is upon us!

Yes, I'm talking about the 3 Gun Match this Sunday.

As usual, setting up starts at 7:00 am and shooting begins at 8:00 am.

Raymond Granderson has a course he's setting up on Bay #2 which leaves #1 and #3 open.

A friendly reminder that only shotguns may be fired into the side berms, with targets designated for pistol and rifle needing to impact the backstop.

Not to worry, as we have lots of shooters boxes for you all to position to make this happen.

Just a reminder that this Sunday morning is our next 3 Gun Match, with setup at 7:00 and the match starting at 8:00.

We're having cooler mornings now so it's time to quit using that lame "It's too hot" excuse and come out. :)

If you're short a firearm but want to give it a try one of us will load you something to shoot...and maybe even ammo to go in it.

Also, we now have 18 more t-posts and 100 foot of orange construction fence, so we can start doing more with barriers.

Please let me know if you're interested in setting up an event and don't forget we have the 6 plate rack on Bay #3.

Practical Pistol Match, Sunday September 2nd $10.00

Hi Guys and Gals.

This Sunday will be our monthly match and you guessed it. We are going to have the lamb Slaughter again. However, I am going to dedicate it to a fellow competitor and friend that left this world way to soon. Dedicating it to Brian Harrison. It will be called the Brian Harrison Slaughter in his memory. God Bless him and His family And Friends.

Supplemental will be PCC. $5.00 extra.

All steel in bays 2 & 3. and will do all paper in bay 1.

If you have a stage design you would like to set up, show up early set up your stage and receive 1/2 off your entry fee!!

Start setting up at 7 am.

Start ringing steel and poking holes in targets at 8 am.

This month we will start having divisions, so when you sign in declare the division you will be shooting!

Divisions recognized will be:

Production – running a stock pistol loaded to a max. of 10 rounds in the mag

Limited – can be production with mags loaded to capacity. No optics, No compensators or mags longer than 140mm.

Open – Optics, compensators and ,mags up to 170mm

Revolver- self explanatory

Single stack - 1911’s and others guns running a single stack mag.

If you have questions ask them at sign in and we will get you lined out.
